I’m Ashley Rae Stevenson (a.rae). I use mindfulness, somatic skills, and creative approaches to help people learn to effectively regulate their own nervous systems and express themselves so that they can be more present, cope better and live with a greater sense of purpose.

Collectively and individually, most of us have forgotten the power of the body and its role in how we perceive and experience ourselves, others, emotions, situations and interactions. For me personally, conscious and deliberate embodiment practices and somatic exploration have been an important key in my own journey. I’ve had heightened intuitive abilities and high emotional intelligence since childhood. I’m also a complex trauma & PTSD survivor, who’s been on a healing path for decades. Helping other sensitive souls learn to better cope, heal & integrate experiences, so they can live with more joy and come into alignment with their unique purpose, is my jam.

I’ve discovered that the body is a true gateway to our subconscious, and to healing. Having taught yoga & meditation and using cognitive-based approaches for many years, I used mindfulness practices as a way to help clients become more self-aware and to cope better. But often, mindfulness-based approaches were not quite enough for true and lasting change. As a trauma-informed embodiment coach & somatic facilitator, I offer accessible, body-based tools, guidance and movement suggestions for deeper presence, awareness and choice in dealing with life’s challenges and to help clients recognize patterns that may have kept them stuck, or that they’d like to change and haven’t quite known how. With that awareness, I give them real tools they can take away and use in their lives.

I also use my background in creative and expressive therapies to offer playful, accessible, optional approaches when it’s hard to verbalize or fully know what’s happening beneath the surface…as an alternate to using just words, mindfulness or somatic awareness alone. Each session is unique, and truly crafted to the individual client. These techniques can be refreshing and help offer other ways to access that which may need our attention or integration. My work as a professional bodyworker for almost two decades also gives me an awareness of body mechanics and anatomy that can be useful in our work together, and my and your awareness of your state of being.

I do not work clinically, provide psychotherapy, give medical advice or diagnose. Rather, I take a highly informed wellness & strengths-based approach with a deeply holistic, compassionate, spiritually infused view and customize sessions around the individual or group I’m working with. I’ve served for over 20 years in the realm of wellness, and I believe it is my life’s path to use my gifts, education, and experience to inspire others on their journeys. I love helping others hone their gifts and cultivate their innate strengths. I take a positive, proactive, creative, supportive and empowering approach to my work, combining authentic presence and compassion with honesty, fearlessness, and useable skills.

I use thoughtful inquiry, individualized approaches and customized tools, insights and suggestions for clients, while inviting them to look honestly at themselves, practice in daily life, and claim their own changes & growth. I’m a believer in laughter, too…not to mention the occasional, well-placed swear word. Sometimes it’s important to remember to have fun, lighten up, and recognize that self-work doesn’t always have to feel heavy! I truly encourage clients to be themselves. I offer one-on-one virtual sessions anywhere one can access the internet, as well as limited in-person sessions and workshops/presentations. I genuinely love to witness my clients make breakthroughs…and I truly believe that as we heal ourselves, we can benefit the world.

Blessings on your journey,

Ashley Rae Stevenson, Certified Trauma-Informed Embodiment Coach, Somatic Facilitator, & Intuitive Guide
